Old Friends In a Field

My field is dark comfort.
It lays behind me like the past.
I choose to own it in remembrance.
How could I ever forget ?

The green leaves sway and whisper.
As the backdrop hugs like an old friend
The tall grass stems hold my weight.
Be patient with me again.

Place me in lavender with a purple hue.
Let me sit in common ground with you
breathe with one eye open if needed
If not for just that …..

I will build a bond upon it.
Become old friends
Let the past fade away.
And a new story begin.
